Welcome to the Student Affairs Division
The Student Affairs Division is essential to the college’s mission of assisting students in their academic, physical, emotional, social and moral development. The division is responsible for the students’ general welfare and the quality of informal learning environment that students’ experience in the college community. Its functions which are administrative, educational and supportive include the following:
- Making representation to the college management about ways of enhancing the quality of students’ life.
- Oversees issues relating to students’ accommodation
- Facilitate and mobilize students for academic ceremonies such as orientation of fresh students, matriculation and graduation.
- Provide career information, guidance and counseling.
- Assist with the development and administration of students’ organization i.e. societies, clubs, association and unions.
- Cater for students’ welfare, including medical assistance to the sick.
- Develop students’ cultural activities, recreation and sports programme.
- Supervise awards of financial aids, scholarships and bursaries to students.
- Develop procedures for the administration of students’ discipline and provisions of appeals to the management. Also ensuring that any disciplinary actions imposed on any student(s) by the college authority are complied with.
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Federal College of Forest Resources Management, Fugar one of the institute at the forefront in creating environmental awareness and sustainability in Nigeria. As you begin another phase of your academic quest, it is expected that you organize your time, tasks and take responsibility of your actions and inactions. It is very important to obey school regulations, attend every class in every course you registered for, participate in practical, do your assignments and submit before deadline.
The office of the Dean of Students’ Affairs is committed to working with you and encourages you to take full advantage of the rare opportunities you will find in this college. If you have uncertainties on what to do and where to do it, this office is there for you. Always feel very comfortable to walk to the office or call when necessary to seek clarification.
