Dr. Adeyi Abiola John is a distinguished engineer, researcher, and academic specializing in Mechanical and Materials Engineering. Born on October 7, 1983, in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria, he has dedicated his career to advancing process systems engineering, renewable energy, and sustainable materials development.
He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from LAUTECH.
Dr. Adeyi currently serves as Deputy Provost (Academics and Administration) at the Federal College of Forest Resources Management, Fugar, Edo State, where he provides strategic academic leadership and fosters innovation. Previously, he led the Bioenergy Section in the Department of Forest Product Development and Utilization and headed the research section in the former Department of Planning Research and Statistics at the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria. He also worked as an Engineer in the Fish Technology Department at the Nigeria Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research.
His research focuses on postharvest technology, including drying technologies, rehydration dynamics, adsorption, bioactive compound extraction, and biofuel production. He has contributed significantly to waste recycling, upcycling, and composite material development. With over 80 peer-reviewed publications in reputable national and international journals—including Scopus-indexed outlets—Dr. Adeyi is a prolific scholar skilled in advanced computational tools, optimization techniques, and microcontroller-based automation.
A registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Dr. Adeyi is committed to professional excellence and ethical practice. He is also a Life Member of the Forestry Association of Nigeria. Between 2020 and 2023, Elsevier Scopus recognized him among Nigeria’s top 500 researchers.
Beyond academia, Dr. Adeyi leads training programs in agroforestry and postharvest technologies, focusing on youth empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. His work reflects a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and societal impact.
